Employer Advisor Office – An Overview

Navigating the complexities of the workers compensation system can be challenging, especially for small businesses and employers new to Manitoba.

The Employer Advisor Office (EAO) was created in 2022, through an amendment to The Workers Compensation Act, to provide advice and assistance to Manitoba employers navigating the intricacies of the workers compensation system. It is completely independent from the Workers Compensation Board (WCB), enabling the EAO to advise employers in confidence.

The attendees will learn about how and why the Employer Advisor Office (EAO) was created and how the office can assist employer’s with their WCB issues. The presentation will include an overview of the WCB system with examples of how the EAO can provide advice in the various areas.

Todd Ward is an Employer Advisor with the EAO with over 20 years of WCB experience. He has been with the department since November 2022. Prior to that Todd was with the WCB of Manitoba for 11 years as a Sector Manager for the Regional Offices and before that with Brandon Regional Health Authority for 10 years as a Director responsible WCB claim reporting and claim management.
